William Dinwiddie
William Dinwiddie, A.M., L.L.D.
1908-1914
Dr. Dinwiddie came to the college as Professor of Mathematics in 1906, and upon Dr. Woods’s departure, Dinwiddie was elected Chancellor. One of his first acts was to secure membership in the newly created Association of Southern Colleges and Preparatory Schools. He also organized the students into a Student Council to encourage student initiative and government at the college.
