Neander Montgomery Woods


Neander Montgomery Woods, D. D., L.L.D.

1905 - February 1908

Rev. Woods was a student at Kentucky University when he left to join the Confederate Army. Upon discharge, he resumed his studies at the University of Michigan and graduated in 1867. He studied law at Washington University in Saint Louis and was admitted to the bar. He then attended Union Seminary at Hampden Sydney, Virginia.  Dr. Woods left Second Presbyterian Church in Louisville to become chancellor at Southwestern Presbyterian University in 1905. The students knew him as a wise and sympathetic counselor.
