George F. Nicolassen
George F. Nicolassen, A.M., L.L.D.

Nicolassen graduated with a Bachelor of Arts and a Masters of Arts from the University of Virginia and received his Ph. D. from Johns Hopkins. He began teaching Greek and German at SPU in 1882 and served as Vice-Chancellor in 1897. He was never appointed president of the College.
