Women's Swimming Team takes 5th at SCAC Championships; Men finish 6th
02/11/06---
First-year swimmer Kim Green set two school records and became Rhodes 1st SCAC Women’s Champion when she won the 1650 free in a national qualifying time of 17:47.18.  Kim also set the Rhodes mark in the 200 breast with a time of 2:34.69.  Eddie Han continued his dominance in the backstroke by capturing 1st place in the 200 back with a time of 1:55.91.  The Women’s 400 free relay team of Jazmin Miller, Marjorie Smith, Kim Green and Mary Helen Solomon lowered the school record with a swim of 3:46.59. Swimming and Diving Teams break more school records at SCAC Championships
02/10/06---
The Lynx Swimming Team continued it's assault on the Rhodes record book during Friday's competition.  Eddie Han became Rhodes 2nd SCAC champion by capturing 1st place in the 100 back with a time of 53.45.  Allison Lohse lowered her 400 IM record by placing 3rd with a time of 4:56.17.  Gerri Diamond placed 6th in the 400 IM with an impressive time of 4:49.65.  Wyatt Franks went 53.94 in the 100 fly to lower his school record.  The women's 800 free relay of Jazmin Miller, Kim Green, Allison Lohse and Marjorie Smith placed 4th in a time of 8:17.44 for a new Rhodes mark.  Eddie Han, Eric Schumacher, Wyatt Franks and Chris Ernst lowered the 200 medley relay record to 1:39.69 Competition concludes Saturday evening. Swimming and Diving Teams have strong 1st day at SCAC Championships
02/09/06---
After the 1st day of competition, the women’s team is currently in 5 th place and the men’s team is in 6 th. Kim Green placed 4 th in the 500 free and set a new school record of 5:14.05. Allison Lohse broke her own school record in the 200 IM with a time of 2:19.66. The women’s 200 free relay (Margie Smith, Jazmin Miller, Louisa Peyronnin, Mary Helen Solomon) set a new school record with a time of 1:43.79. On the men’s side, the 200 free relay team (Eddie Han, Wyatt Franks, Eric Schumacher, Chris Ernst) set a new school record with a time of 1:28.78. Competition concludes Saturday evening. Swimming and Diving Teams kick off SCAC Championships
02/09/06---Wyatt Franks, Jazmin Miller and Eddie Hon will lead the Lynx into the 2006 SCAC Swimming and Diving Championships, hosted by Rhodes and Hendrix College at Delta State University in Cleveland, MS. Check back for daily updates or view click here to view the complete results.
 
Women's Swimming finishes third at Sewanee
01/28/06---Kim Green finished 3rd in the 200 Freestyle (2:06.26) and 2nd in the 500 Freestyle (5:32.07). Alison Lohse received 4th in the 200 IM, going 2:25.60. “The women have trained very hard this year, and I expect some very fast swims going into our conference championships.” –Coach Jon Duncan. The team travels to Cleveland, MS on February 8 to compete in the SCAC Championships.

Women's Swimming win tri-meet versus Hendrix and Lambuth
01/21/06---
The Women’s swimming team won their first meet of 2006 with a victory against local rivals Hendrix College and Lambuth University. Individual event wins include: Kim Green in the 1000 Freestyle (11:32.66) and the 100 Breaststroke (1:17.91). Jazmin Miller won the 200 Freestyle in 2:05.66. Mary Helen Solomon won the 50 Freestyle, going a 27.07, and Caroline Reid won the 200 IM in a 2:31.69. Louisa Peyronnin won the 100 Butterfly 1:07.85, Margie Smith in the 100 Freestyle (59.92). Courtney Armstrong won the 500 Freestyle with a time of  7:04.00.The Lynx will travel to Sewanee, Tennessee to compete against Sewanee and Transylvania on January 28, 2006.
 
Women's Swimming and Diving Finish 8th at DePauw Invitational
12/03/05---
Rhodes Women’s Swimming Team Finished 8th at the DePauw invitational.  With a battle of illnesses and injuries the Lady lynx competed and swam well.  “We had a few girls out of this meet we continued to swim well and maintain a positive attitude,” said Coach Duncan.  Kim Green broke her old school record in the 500 free with a time of 5:19.17.  Complete Results
 

Women's Swimming and Diving Finish 6th at Washington University Invitational
11/20/05---
The Lynx finished 6th at the Washinton University scoring 241 points.  Diver Leah Hirsh received 9th place.  Freshman Megan McCollough and Lousia Peyronnin  finished top 16 in their individual races. 
Jazmin Miller keeps imroving in the 200free with a time 2:00.98. The Lynx will travel to Greencastle,Indiana to compete in the DePauw Invitational December 2nd & 3rd.   Complete Results

 
Women's Swimming and Diving Finish 3rd at Dallas
11/05/05---
The Lynx keep improving their individual performances as the season progresses.  Freshman Kim Green, broke another school record in the 500 free with a winning time of 5:27.74.  Sophomore Jazmin Miller won the 100 free with a time of 55.92.  The Lynx will compete in St. Louis November 19-20 at the Washington University Invite.
 
Women's Swimming and Diving Finish 3rd at Hendrix Invitational
10/28/05---
The Rhodes Women’s Swimming & Diving team placed 3rd out of nine teams Friday night.  Freshman Kim Green  (Huntsville, AL.) broke a school record in the 1,000 yd freestyle with a time of 11:21.12.  The Lynx will compete this Saturday in a quad meet against Hendrix, Trinity and Southwestern.
 
  Jon Duncan named Rhodes Swimming and Diving Coach
05/06/05---Jon Duncan was named Rhodes Aquatics Coordinator and Head Swimming and Diving Coach. Duncan served the past two years as an Assistant Coach for the women's and men's teams at Depauw. "We're very excited to have Coach Duncan join our program at Rhodes," said Mike Clary, Rhodes Director of Athletics. Clary went on to say, "the combination of his Division III coaching experience and his Division I competitive experience will provide the balance we seek for our student-athletes at Rhodes." more...
