Reilly, Delavan Pick Up Two Major Volleyball Awards for the Lynx
11/13/06---Junior Libero Laura Reilly was named Back Row Player of the Year while Freshman Katherine Delavan was named Freshman Player of the Year. This marks the third year in a row that a Lynx player has received Back Row Player of the Year honors while Delaven's nod as Freshman of the Year is the first for the Lynx. Rhodes Volleyball Receives Berth to NCAA Tournament
11/05/06---The Rhodes Volleyball Team made history today by receiving its first ever bid to the NCAA Tournament. Rhodes is one of 62 teams to make the field. Volleyball defeats Austin
11/05/06---Rhodes improves to 27-11 overall and finished 15-3 in the SCAC by defeating Austin College by scores of 30-28, 24-30, 30-19 and 30-23 at the final SCAC Cross-Divisional. Lynx Defeat Maryville and Washington and Lee
10/28/06---The Lynx defeated Maryville College (TN) and Washington and Lee today both in four games apiece. In the first match against host Maryville, The Lynx were led by Katherine Delavan's 18 kills. Laura Jensen had 5 service aces while Crystal Jessee dominated the net with 10 blocks. Against Washington and Lee, Ally Squires had 14 kills while Whitney Palla, Laura Reilly and Emily Sadtler combined for 59 digs to anchor the defense. 10/21/06---The Lynx defeated Sewanee and Oglethorpe in three sets apiece to finish 4-0 at the second East Divisional hosted by Centre College. The volleyball team is now 20-10 on the year and 11-2 in SCAC play good enough for second place. Volleyball Team Receives Game Plan/AVCA Team Academic Award
07/31/06---The Rhodes College Volleyball Team was one of 287 teams across the nation to receive the Game Plan/AVCA Team Academic Award for the 2005-2006 academic year. The award, initiated in the 1992-93 academic year, honors college and high school teams that displayed excellence in the classroom by maintaining at least a 3.30 cumulative team grade-point average on a 4.0 scale and a 4.10 cumulative team GPA on a 5.0 scale during the school year. Nominating head coaches must be AVCA members. Each school will receive a plaque, and each player a certificate commemorating the designation...
