Swanstrom Named SCAC Backrow Player of the Year for the Second Straight Year
11/15/05---In exclusive all conference voting completed by the head coaches, Amanda Swanstrom was named the 2005 SCAC Backrow Player of the Year for the second straight season. Teammates Crystal Jessee and Emily Sadtler were also named to the league's all-conference team...more...
 
Rhodes Volleyball Defeats Sewanee
11/06/05---Rhodes defeated Sewanee in three games by the scores of 30-26, 30-19 and 30-22. Emily Sadtler led the Lynx attack with 12 kills. Libero Amanda Swanstrom had 23 digs to finish her career with 2,181 digs, good enough for second all time in the SCAC. Rhodes finishes the season with a 23-14 overall record (14-4 SCAC).
 
Rhodes Defeats Oglethorpe and Centre
11/05/05---Rhodes defeated Oglethorpe in three games by the scores of 30-21, 30-11 and 30-22. Crystal Jessee led the Lynx defense with 8 blocks and Amanda Swanstrom had 15 digs. In their final match of the day, the Lynx defeated Centre by the scores of 30-25, 30-28 and 30-12. Michelle Petter had 6 kills and 5 blocks to lead the way. Rhodes is now 22-14 overall (13-4 SCAC).
 
Rhodes Defeats Rose-Hulman and DePauw
11/04/05---Rhodes defeated Rose-Hulman in three games by the scores of 30-21, 30-20 and 30-24. Ally Squires led the Lynx with 11 kills. The Lynx later defeated DePauw in five games in their second game of the Cross Divisional #2 at Sewanee. Outside hitter Emily Sadtler paced the team with 19 kills while Crystal Jessee had 8 blocks. Rhodes is now 20-14 overall (11-4 SCAC).

Rhodes Hosts SCAC West Divisional Volleyball Tournament #2
10/20/05---Rhodes will host the 2nd SCAC West Divisional Volleyball Tournament of the 2005 season. The tournament will take place over two days beginning Friday, October 21, 2005 and concluding on Saturday, October 22, 2005. To view the tournament schedule, results and statistical leaders visit the Tournament Website. Before the tournament begins, Rhodes will make up their match against Southwestern on Thursday, October 20 at 7:00pm in Mallory Gymnasium.

10/08/05---Rhodes defeated Sewanee to finish up 5-0 at the SCAC Cross Divisional #1 hosted by Trinity University. The Lynx defeated the Tigers in three games (30-18,30-18,30-23). Leading the way for the Lynx were Sophomores Emily Sadtler with 12 kills and Megan Thompson with 5 service aces. The Lynx improved to 13-10 (7-1 SCAC) on the season. The team is back in action next weekend when they compete in the Hendrix College Fall Classic...

10/07/05---Emily Sadtler had 20 kills and Sandy Obreza added 32 assists as the Lynx defeated Centre in five games in San Antonio, TX at the SCAC Cross Divisional. Swanstrom Becomes All Time Career Digs Leader at Rhodes
10/03/05---After this weekends match versus Central Arkansas, Senior Libero Amanda Swanstrom became the leader in career digs at Rhodes. As of today Swanstrom has 1859 total digs in her career. This ranks Swanstrom fifth all time in career digs for the SCAC, with a chance to become the all time dig leader in SCAC history at the end of the season. The current mark is 2,182 digs set by Jill Adams of Millsaps College.
 
Rhodes Loses to University of Central Arkansas
10/02/05---Rhodes lost to Division II foe University of Central Arkansas today in three games (17-30,23-30,20-30). Freshman Ally Squires and Sophomore Laura Reilly led the Lynx with 8 kills apiece. Senior Gretchen Bufe led the team with 18 assists and Libero Amanda Swanstrom led the team with 13 digs. The Lynx return to action next weekend in San Antonio as the Trinity University hosts the SCAC Cross Divisional #1.

Southwestern Match Rescheduled for October 20th
09/28/05---Rhodes will face off against Southwestern University on October 20, 2005 at Mallory Hyde Gymnasium. Game time is set for 7pm. Southwestern was not able to attend the SCAC West #1 held at Rhodes last weekend due to Hurricane Rita.

Lynx Defeat Lyon College
09/18/05---The Lynx volleyball team improved to 6-8 on the season as they rallied from a two game deficit to win the last three games and the match. Scores were 28-30, 22-30, 30-21, 33-31 and 16-14. Middle Blockers Crystal Jessee and Ally Squires led the way for the Lynx as they combined for 25 kills and 13 blocks on the afternoon. Rhodes will own a three match win streak as they host next weekend's SCAC Divisional #1.

09/13/05--- Rhodes lost in three games (22-30,18-30,24-30) on Tuesday evening to Division II powerhouse Harding University. Junior Middle Blocker Crystal Jessee led the Lynx with 11 kills and 3 blocks. Senior Setter Sandy Obreza had 22 kills on the evening. The Lynx return to action on Thursday evening when they face off against West Alabama and cross town rival Christian Brothers University at CBU.
