SOUTHERN COLLEGIATE ATHLETIC CONFERENCE AWARDS
 

ALL-SCAC TEAM SELECTIONS

David Wishnew and Terry Tansill were selected to the SCAC First Team, while James Downing from Boulder Co, Josh Klein, Matt Prewett and Nick Reed from Atlanta, Ga made SCAC Second Team honors.

 

SCAC SCHOLAR ATHLETES

The Rhodes men's team placed 15 players on the SCAC honor role, more than any other team in the 10-team conference. To be eligible, players must have a minimum 3.25 GPA for the fall semester. The players are listed below.

RHODES AND SCAC POWER RATINGS HIGH

Rhodes finished the season ranked #19 nationally and the SCAC stayed at #1 in the final NCAA Division III national power ratings for teams and conferences by collegesoccer.com. Other SCAC schools in the top 40 were Trinity #1, Depauw #11, Sewanee #28 and Centre #31.

 
2000 NSCAA/ADIDAS AWARDS
 

ALL-SOUTH REGION TEAM SELECTIONS

Four players were selected to the All-South Region team. David Wishnew from Allen, Tx made his fourth appearance on the team, Josh Klein from Chesterfield, Mo and Terry Tansill from Spring, TX made their third appearances and Matt Prewett from Austin, TX was selected for the second time. This is the fourth time Rhodes has placed four players at one time on the All-South Region Teams.

 

SCHOLAR ATHLETE AWARD

The 1999-2000 team was honored at the National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA) convention, in Indianapolis IN, January 18th with the NSCAA/ADIDAS Team Academic Award. It is the third year in a row the men's team has been honored. To be selected, the team's overall GPA must be at least 3.00. Also honored were senior's Matt Prewett and David Wishnew who were selected for the second year in a row, to the NSCAA/ADIDAS All-South Region Scholar Athlete Team. Wishnew was also selected for the second time to the NSCAA/ADIDAS All-America Scholar Athlete Team. Wishnew is the only Rhodes player to ever be selected as a Two-Time Scholar Athlete All-American. The teams are made up of Division I, II, III and NAIA athletes and are based on academic and athletic abilities.
