Lynx lose tough one to UT-Dallas, 3-1
9/03/06...

The Lynx came into the Sunday afternoon game a little weary after earning a much-deserved victory the day before against Luther College. So it came as no surprise that the Comets of UT-Dallas came onto the field and pressed the intensity in the first few minutes of the game. It was however, the Lynx who were able to find the scoreboard first with junior midfielder Chase LaFont netting his first goal of the season with a nice assist from sophomore forward Jay Carpenter.

UT-Dallas would come back five minutes later and tie the score at 1-1 when a loose ball in the box resulted in a open shot for forward Austin Peel. The Lynx would regroup and find a couple other scoring opportunities but it would be the Comets who would find the back of the net again on an almost impossible shot that goalkeeper Alex Margolin had virtually no chance on.

The score would remain at 2-1 heading into the second half when six minutes into the second half there was some confusion around the Lynx box when a supposed substitution and a confusion on a goal kick ended up somehow in a second goal for forward Austin Peel and a final score of 3-1.

Goalkeeper Alex Margolin played the full 90 minutes and ended with six saves. The Lynx are back in action this coming weekend as they embark on their first road trip of the season as they take on Washington University-St. Louis on Friday, September 8 at 7:30 pm and Webster University on Sunday, September 10 at 1:00 pm.
