After enduring a nine game winless streak, the Lynx were looking to put a win in the record column. The Lynx came out strong, putting pressure on the Crichton defense, forcing several turnovers in the offensive third of the field. All the hard work finally paid off when freshman forward Logan Eberly (Evansville, IN) scored off an indirect free kick from junior midfielder Chase LaFont (Nashville, TN). The Lynx weren’t finished when in the 30th minute freshman defender Richard Sewell (Plano, TX) scored off a 30 yard blast from the left side of the field. |
The score would remain 2-0 until the 70th minute Comets forward Joseph Doherty scored a goal that goalkeeper Alex Margolin had virtually no chance on. The Lynx were not going to rest on that as less than two minutes later sophomore midfielder Rob Palutsis (Lake Bluff, IL) caught the Comets keeper off his line and was able to put a shot over the keeper’s head and into the back post for the game winner. Crichton would still try to mount a comeback as forward Joseph Doherty would net his second goal of the game. But sophomore midfielder Parke Brackett (West Des Moines, IA) would score in the 90th minute an insurance goal to put the Lynx up 4-2. The Lynx are now 2-6-3 and are embarking on a fall break trip to Colorado Springs, CO. They will take on Chapman University (CA) on Sunday, October 15 at 1:00 pm MST then will take on Colorado College on Monday, October 16 at 3:30 pm MST. |
