Don’t let financial need keep you from applying to Rhodes.
Our goal for all students—both domestic and international—is to remove cost as the primary determining factor in whether or not you attend Rhodes. All of our students are encouraged to apply for fellowships, scholarships and need-based assistance.

More than 85% of Rhodes students receive some form of financial aid of any source, totaling more than $20 million each year.

The average award for students receiving a competitive fellowship or scholarship totals about $11,700 per year.
Our financial aid packages typically consist of a combination of fellowships or scholarships, grants, and work-study jobs. Awards are based on academic performance, application essays and–for need-based assistance–family financial information.
What is the annual cost of a Rhodes education?
The 2008-2009 costs for resident students are:

International students also should consider costs for roundtrip transportation and meals, housing and transportation during academic breaks when the Rhodes campus is closed. Our Coordinator for Multicultural Recruitment is available to help you plan for these breaks.
When are payments due to Rhodes?
We require your first tuition payment (50% of your tuition/fees/room/board minus 50% of any fellowship, scholarship or grant you are awarded) before you apply for your student visa. The remainder is due at the end of November.
How does financial aid work?
We help demystify financial aid and guide you and your family through the application process. You simply apply for aid and we will do our best to fulfill your demonstrated financial need.
