Transfer Students
You’re considered a transfer student if you’ve taken more than two courses in a single term at another accredited college. We encourage you to apply if you think Rhodes is a better fit than your current institution.
Will I receive transfer credit?
If you’re accepted for admission, we’ll review your work and let you know which credits will apply toward our degree requirements. All students must satisfy the same requirements to receive a Rhodes diploma.
What about competitive and need-based financial assistance?
As a transfer applicant, you’ll be considered for all competitive awards (except the Bellingrath, Bonner and Taylor Fellowships) and any need-based assistance for which you qualify.
What’s the procedure to apply to Rhodes?
You may apply either online or by traditional paper application. And while we waive the $45 application fee for online applicants, all applications receive equal consideration.
As you follow the steps outlined below, take time to ensure that everything is complete, accurate and has all required signatures (if using a paper application) so we can process your application without delay.
Step 1: Review our admissions application and financial aid deadlines.
Step 2: Submit your application.
I want to apply online.
- Complete the Rhodes Online Application OR you may complete the Common Application. If so, you need to download and complete the Common Application Supplement (PDF) and mail it to the Office of Admissions.
I want to submit a paper application.
-
Download the Rhodes Application Part I (PDF) and Part II (PDF), and mail your completed application to the Rhodes Office of Admissions with a non-refundable check for $45.
-
OR you may download a print version of the Common Application (PDF) and Common Application Supplement (PDF). Submit the completed application to the Office of Admissions with a non-refundable check for $45.
Step 3: Submit the appropriate supporting materials.
Step 4: If possible, schedule a campus visit and interview with one of our Admissions staff.
It’s not required, but it gives us an opportunity to know you beyond the information on your application—and may influence our decision when evaluating candidates for admission.
