Mission
New Student Programs, in alignment with the Rhodes College Vision, strives to serve as a campus leader in supporting the transition process to Rhodes College of new students, as well as their family members through educational programs and support services.
Goals
We will promote and enhance the success of first-year students by:
- Providing students and their family members with informative and engaging orientation programs that introduce them to the academic, social and cultural expectations of the Rhodes College community.
- Collaborating with other campus offices and units to be intentional about developing and connecting educational events, programs and activities that support students during their transition to Rhodes College.
- Recruiting, selecting and training upper class students to support first-year students by establishing mentoring relationships and serving as a resource throughout the fall semester.
- Integrating students′ families, where appropriate, into the transitional period.
