As a recent graduate of the College, Kristin first heard about Rhodes when her older sister attended after reading the book, Colleges That Change Lives. While studying at Rhodes, she pursued her passion for foreign languages and majored in Spanish. Eager to travel, she participated in the Rhodes Alternative Spring Break trip to do service work in Parismina, Costa Rica. Later, she spent a semester living with a host family in Granada, Spain. In a span of four months, she traveled with friends from her program throughout Spain, France, Ireland, Morocco, and Belgium – further igniting her love for other cultures. While at Rhodes, Kristin spent many hours serving on the Honor Council, holding leadership positions in Greek life, and working in the Office of Admission.
“Rhodes exceeded my expectations of the college experience in every way. Attending Rhodes meant joining a community who shares a desire to learn and grow, in the classroom and beyond.” During the weekends, Kristin enjoys going out to breakfast. Drinking coffee, a habit she acquired in Spain, “reminds me of studying abroad, sitting in a café for hours and enjoying café con leche with friends.” She also likes to eat at the restaurants in Cooper Young, specifically, the Beauty Shop, where she makes sure to order their strawberry cake.
Kristin is excited to be working in an environment that cultivates two of her greatest passions: Rhodes and travelling. “There is a reason Rhodes is included in Colleges That Change Lives; because it does just that.”
