Dr. Panter and her husband, Jim, are the proud parents of four children, four dogs, and four cats. Their children range in age from 18 to 36. They are even prouder of their five grandchildren, two of whom live with them! In their free time, they enjoy swimming, RVing, and dog obedience training.
Dr. Panter graduated in 1998 with a Ph.D. in Psychology from the University of Memphis. She specialized in School Psychology with an emphasis on assessment. Dr. Panter worked in the Dallas City Schools for two years, one as a doctoral student intern and one year post-doc. From 1999 to 2005, she worked as a school psychologist in the Shelby County Schools. Those experiences give her a unique perspective on educational psychology and the needs of our schools.
Her research focuses on school readiness, educational program evaluation, and math tutoring and assessment. She is passionate about public education and the needs of our schools.
