Gail P. C. Streete is the W. J. Millard Professor of Religious Studies at Rhodes College, where she has taught since 1990, after holding appointments at the College of William and Mary, Harvard Divinity School, Penn State University, and elsewhere. She holds a Ph.D. in Biblical Studies from Drew University in Madison, N.J. Her major interests lie in the study of women in the New Testament and Early Christianity, asceticism, and martyrdom. She is the author of numerous articles and three books, including The Strange Woman: Sex and Power in the Bible (Westminster John Knox).
