Semester Majors/Minors Meeting
Each semester, the department schedules a meeting to discuss general departmental news and to distribute descriptions of courses to be offered the following semester. The meeting is held prior to pre-registration each semester. Pizza and drinks are provided. All who are interested are welcome at the meeting. The Fall ′08 Majors/Minors meeting will be heldon Wednesday, September 3 at 4:00 pm in the Orgill Room.
Philosophy Film Series
The Philosophy Department regularly schedules screenings of films with philosophical implications. Some of the films are chosen in conjunction with current philosophy courses and others are chosen by the Philosophy Club.

"Pub Talks"
Philosophy is best done in conversation and the Philosophy Department helps facilitate just those sorts of conversations in our semi-regular "Pub Talks," which are held in Rhodes′ newly-opened Lynx Lair. Pub Talks generally follow the film series and speakers series schedule, providing students an opportunity to interact with faculty in an informal conversation about those events. However, Pub Talks are not limited to specific events - they are also scheduled for discussions of extra-curricular readings or topics of interest to students and faculty.
Philosophy Club
The Philosophy Club meets weekly during the seamster on Mondays at 6:00 pm. If you are interested in participating in the Philosophy Club, which is a student-run organization, please contact Robert Leonard at leorw@rhodes.edu.
