Hanna Albertson joined Rhodes College in 2007 as Assistant Professor of Italian and Director of the Language Center. She received her M.A. in French Language and Literature and her Ph.D. in Italian Literature, both from Adam Mickiewicz University in Poznan, Poland, where she also served for 18 years as Senior Research Assistant and as Associate Professor. She previously taught at the University of Mississippi from 2003 to 2007. Her areas of expertise include Italian Literature of the 19th and 20th century, Methodology of Literary Studies, and Italian Language Teaching. Included among her fellowships is the 2006 Andrew W. Mellon East-Central European Visiting Scholars Award at the American Academy in Rome.
