Transfer & Non-Rhodes Credits

How will study abroad be affected?

Not at all. Many students already take more than sixteen credits in one semester abroad. We will continue to work with individual students to transfer study abroad credit in optimum ways.

How will transfer credit be affected?

Some of the transfer credit policies are not finalized yet, but there is one big change: enrolled students will not be able to use transfer credit to satisfy a Foundation Requirement. That means that you won’t be able to take a course at the college in your home town over the summer to meet a Foundation requirement. You will still be able to use a transfer course for a major requirement (with approval) and as elective credit.

Will Advanced Placement credit for currently enrolled students be affected?

Advanced Placement credit that has been awarded already will remain unchanged for currently enrolled students. If the credit already meets a degree requirement or major requirement, that will not change.

Will Advanced Placement or IB credit be affected?

The College will continue to accept AP and IB credit, but such credit will not satisfy Foundation Requirements.

Will transfer credit for currently enrolled students be affected?

Credit that has already been awarded will not be affected.
