Rhodes College Orchestra

Dr. Joseph Montelione, Director

The Rhodes College Orchestra is a 40 piece full symphonic orchestra that presents four on-campus concerts and four off-campus concerts during the academic year with repertoire ranging from the Baroque Period to the 21st century. The orchestra serves to fulfill the desire to keep music an integral part of the life of the liberal arts student. All students are welcomed to audition for the orchestra and do not need to be a music major or minor to participate.

Every year the Rhodes College Orchestra tours the United States, performing in a variety of professional and academic settings. Highlights from the 2009-2010 concert season will include the world premiere of Steve Kornicki′s Vertical Color Forms No. 1 (Cosmic Vistas), the winners of the Gladys Cauthen Competition, cello soloist Iren Zombor and the annual Rhodes Night at the Movies.
