Wind Ensemble

Joe Montelione, Director

Rhodes Wind Ensemble rehearses and performs idiomatic literature written specifically for winds. The Wind Ensemble is also a part of the Rhodes Orchestra; these two experiences provide comprehensive knowledge of various genres. While an audition with the conductor is required, the Rhodes Wind Ensemble is open to all Rhodes students. One hour of college credit is available for each semester of participation. Participation in the Rhodes Wind Ensemble assumes concurrent membership in the Rhodes Orchestra.

Recent Repertoire performed by the Wind Ensemble includes:

  • James Barnes′s Alvamar Overture
  • Gordon Jacob′s Suite "William Byrd"
  • Ron Nelson′s Courtly Airs and Dances
  • William Schuman′s Chester Overture
