Rhodes offers several Dual Degree programs for students pursuing an undergraduate education in the liberal arts and sciences prior to earning a more technical or specialized degree. Two programs take advantage of the College’s relationship with Vanderbilt University.

Dual Degree in Engineering with Washington University

Students attend Rhodes for three to four years and then Washington University for two years of engineering study. Upon completion, students receive a bachelor’s degree from Rhodes and a second bachelor’s degree in engineering from Washington University.

Students attend Rhodes for three years, majoring in physics, chemistry or biochemistry/molecular biology, and then study a related engineering field for two years at CBU. Upon completion, students receive a bachelor’s degree from Rhodes and a second bachelor’s degree in engineering from CBU.

BS/MS Degree in Biomedical Engineering with the University of Tennessee and University of Memphis

Students attend Rhodes for three years, majoring in chemistry or physics, and then study biomedical engineering at the University of Tennessee and University of Memphis for two years. Upon completion, students receive a BS degree from Rhodes and a MS degree in engineering from the University of Tennessee and University of Memphis Joint Program in Biomedical Engineering.

Master of Education with Vanderbilt University

Students earn a graduate degree and professional educational licensure (elementary or secondary) in the Master of Education (M.Ed.) program at Peabody College of Vanderbilt University. Interested students should apply during the spring semester of their junior year and, if admitted, will take classes at Peabody their senior year.

Master of Science in Nursing with Vanderbilt University

The Rhodes-Vanderbilt Liberal Arts-Nursing Four-Two Program allows students to earn a bachelor’s degree at Rhodes and a master’s degree in nursing at Vanderbilt. A prospective nursing student completes all the requirements for a bachelor’s degree at Rhodes College and at the same time fulfills prerequisites for admission into the graduate program of Vanderbilt University School of Nursing. In the senior year at Rhodes, a student applies for admission to the Vanderbilt School of Nursing for study in one of the nursing specialty areas that it offers.
