Meet the CODA Fellows

Charlotte Ashford ′10, and Christine Zhu ′09 (above) are reenacting famous paintings using Rhodes students and faculty. Students are encouraged to interact with the scenes; photographs taken will likely be displayed around campus. The painting “The French Ambassadors” (above left) was reenacted by Rhodes football players (above right), their first involvement in an art project at Rhodes.
Meghan Wilcox ′11 and Luke Branim ′10 are working with fellow students Carly Agre ′11 and Shelby Long ′11 to build the largest mural in Memphis history, please visit the MURAL PAGE to learn more.
Daniel Frankel ′09 and Emily Main ′12 (below) began a bi-lingual singing group at Casa Maria, and Emily has also began teacing dance there on Saturdays with other Rhodes students. Daniel, an accomplished opera singer, is lso working with Opera Memphis to visit members of local halfway houses, sing to them and talk with them about opera, and to take them to dress rehearsals of a performance. For many this is their first experience with opera.

Natalija Kokoreva ‘10 (below) examines a dress from the collection of Prof. Dee Birnbaum. Natalijia has organized a fashion show called “The Art of Clothing: Middle Eastern and Central Asian Fashion,” co-sponsored by the Muslim Student Association and Women’s Studies.
Werner Viser ′10 (below) helps out at Springdale Elementary in an after-school program CODA begn and now the TriDelt Sorority helps to maintain.
