Rhodes - St. Jude Partnership

This program provides the opportunity for students from our Learning Corridor partner, Central High School, to experience first-hand the field of biomedical research. Students from Central, selected by their teachers, are brought to St. Jude Children’s Cancer Research Hospital, where they meet with a group of exciting young postdoctoral fellows.
Each student is paired with a postdoc in a one-on-one mentoring relationship. In addition to learning about the diverse areas of biomedical research being conducted at St. Jude and touring the laboratory facilities, each student completes an independent research project. Under the guidance of their postdoc mentors, and with the assistance of students from Rhodes College, the students learn to design, conduct and analyze the results of their research projects. The resulting research presentations will be showcased at the Rhodes College Undergraduate Research and Creative Activities Symposium (URCAS).
