Majors, Minors & Requirements
REQUIREMENTS FOR A MAJOR IN ANTHROPOLOGY/SOCIOLOGY
A total of forty-eight (48) credits as follow
- Anthropology/Sociology 103 and 105.
- Anthropology/Sociology 250 and 350. (to be taken by junior year)
- Anthropology/Sociology 380. (to be taken junior year)
- Anthropology/Sociology 485 and 486. (to be taken senior year)
- Six additional courses (24 credits) in Anthropology/Sociology.
The six elective courses are chosen in conference with departmental faculty members and should reflect the student’s specific interests and needs. Students may count one cognate course toward this requirement.
REQUIREMENTS FOR A MINOR IN ANTHROPOLOGY/SOCIOLOGY
A total of twenty-four (24) credits as follows:
- Anthropology/Sociology 103 and 105.
- Anthropology/Sociology 380.
- Three additional courses in Anthropology /Sociology.
HONORS IN ANTHROPOLOGY/SOCIOLOGY
- Courses required: fulfillment of the requirements for a major in the department.
- Honors tutorial: Anthropology/Sociology 495-496, and a substantial research paper in an area of special interest to the candidate.
- Superior grades in senior seminar.
