Eleventh Annual Memphis Children's Theatre Festival

Anyone who has attended this festival in the past would be likely to give you the same recommendation: “Don’t miss it!” The festival continues to grow and involve more of the community arts organizations and performers from around the Mid-South. Bring the whole family for a picnic on the grounds to start things off on Friday, and come back Saturday morning for a full day of events. The schedule of events will be available soon at voicesofthesouth.org.

The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee

Six spellers enter, one speller wins! Losers get a juice box. A colorful group of mid-pubescents competes for the title of supreme spelling bee champ. Between rounds, they share bits of their home life through stories alternatingly hilarious, embarrassing, and heartfelt. The only thing that can crush their enthusiasm is the dreaded “ding” of the bell that signals a spelling mistake.

Music and Lyrics by William Finn
Book by Rachel Sheinkin
