These days, Memphis has grown beyond that limited description to define the face of the modern South. Rhodes students benefit from internships in this 19th largest city in the U.S. (population: 1.2 million) and home to nine Fortune 500 companies—including FedEx and International Paper—and research facilities like St. Jude Children′s Research Hospital. Thriving cultural organizations, universities and religious communities enrich the quality of life. And a growing multi-ethnic population brings the world to our doorstep.

For those unfamiliar with the South, we do experience all four seasons in Memphis! The average temperature in January is 50°F/10°C, and in August it′s 90°F/32°C. Memphis International Airport is located 20 minutes from the Rhodes campus.

It will take you at least four years to explore what Memphis has to offer.
