Why give to the Campaign for Rhodes?
For more than 150 years, Rhodes has helped students flourish in both scholarship and character development. Today, the college offers this unique combination:
- An intimate, academically rigorous education
- An urban setting that supports applied learning
- A long-standing culture of service and individual integrity
Guided by the Rhodes Vision, Rhodes has identified four strategic imperatives: student access, learning, engagement and inspiration. During the last decade, Rhodes has pursued these imperatives through:
- More student fellowships and endowed faculty positions
- A new curriculum that adds breadth and depth to the Rhodes education
- Financial aid awards designed to integrate learning in and beyond the classroom
- Community partnerships that provide life-changing experiences for students
- New construction and plans for renovation of existing buildings, including the Barret Library, McCoy Theatre, Burrow Library and other academic spaces
Bolstered by these advancements, Rhodes has reached a turning point—the opportunity to become a learning community that is not just excellent, but extraordinary.
The Rhodes Endowment supports access, learning, engagement and inspiration.
It’s no coincidence that the most respected colleges and universities are the best endowed. Because endowments help attract and retain the best faculty, students and staff, the Campaign for Rhodes focuses on gifts to the endowment, while also gratefully acknowledging gifts to the Annual Fund.
Our goal is to raise $250 million to support student access, learning, engagement and inspiration. A focus on these imperatives will make the Rhodes education even more challenging, inclusive and life-changing.
