Nashville’s Parthenon to Show Paintings by Erin Harmon
Publication Date: 9/11/2007
Erin Harmon, assistant professor of art at Rhodes College, suspends images exploring the body and mind in layers of translucent paint. This technique creates a highly decorated, glossy surface. Harmon’s paintings will be on view September 28 through January 5 at The Parthenon, Nashville’s art museum.
On Friday, Sept. 28, 6 p.m.–8 p.m., an opening reception for Harmon’s show will take place in the Parthenon’s West Gallery. The reception is free and open to the public.
The Parthenon is open 9 a.m.–4:30 p.m. Tuesday–Saturday. Admission is $5 for adults and $2.50 for seniors 62 and over and children 4-17. Children under 4 are free. For questions, call (615) 862-8431.
Originally from California, Harmon received a B.A. degree in studio arts from San Diego State University. She went on to receive an M.F.A. degree in painting from Rhode Island School of Design in 2003.
