Two Memphis Alumni Win Awards

Memphis attorney and former attorney general for West Tennessee W.J. Michael “Mike” Cody ’58 received the Francis X. Bellotti Award from the National Association of Attorneys General.

The award recognizes former attorneys general who have worked diligently to further the association’s vision and mission and have exhibited outstanding leadership abilities, high moral character, legal skills and community involvement.


Denby Brandon ’50, chairman of Brandon Financial Planning in Memphis, is the winner of this year’s P. Kemp Fain Jr. Award from the Financial Planning Association.

He was recognized for outstanding contributions to the financial planning profession and upholding the group core values of competence, integrity, relationships and stewardship. He is coauthor of A History of the Financial Planning Profession, which will be published next year.
