Former Rhodes Dean Teaches New Online Course on What It Means to Be Human

Join Dr. Robert Llewellyn, Professor Emeritus of Philosophy and former Dean of Rhodes College, for a new online course “Insights to the Nature of Being Human” presented by Rhodes’ Meeman Center for Lifelong Learning. Reservations are being accepted now.

Readings consist of Homer′s Odyssey, Virgil′s Aeneid, and a selection from the Hebrew Bible’s Book of Job to explore “man as craftsman,” “man as citizen,” and “man as answerer.”

Registered participants will be given a password and URL to get to the user-friendly discussion site and will have access to the online forum 24 hours a day, October 3–24, 2007.

Llewellyn will post discussion questions by noon on Tuesdays and will be online Wednesdays from 8 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. to facilitate discussion of the questions.
