Rhodes’ Paul Barret, Jr. Library has been recognized as a “Project of Distinction” with a 2007 Education Design Showcase Award sponsored by College Planning & Management magazine. Hanbury Evans Wright Vlattas + Company of Norfolk, Va., lead architect for the library, captured the “Outstanding Architecture and Design in Education” award in the showcase.

Shepley Bulfinch Richardson & Abbott of Boston, Mass., were consulting architects for the Paul Barret, Jr. Library that opened August 2005. At 136,000 square feet, the library aligns the geographic and intellectual hearts of the Rhodes campus and pays homage to the school’s tradition of Collegiate Gothic architecture.

Education Design Showcase Award winners appear in the June 2007 issue of College Planning & Management.
