Rhodes Staff Stand Out at Professional Conferences

Melissa Butler McCowen, Coordinator of Disability and Career Services at Rhodes College, recently received the Dona Sparger Professional Service Award at the Tennessee AHEAD (Association on Higher Education and Disability) Conference. McCowen is the first recipient at a private college to receive this award which honors a postsecondary service provider who has demonstrated exemplary professional service to the disability services field through education, leadership, advocacy, and service. 
Warren “Bud” Richey, Associate Vice President of College Relations, made two presentations at the recent CASE (Council for Advancement and Support of Education)  District IV meeting in Dallas, Texas. One was a panel discussion on mobilizing alumnus to recruit students and the other was a solo presentation on involving parents of students in the work of the college. The conference had over 800 attendees.
