Rhodes Students Discuss Latin American Studies in Birmingham

Six Rhodes students participated in the Latin American Studies Symposium hosted by Birmingham Southern College March 30-31. The interdisciplinary two-day conference showcased original research by undergraduate students from more than 30 colleges and universities across the nation.
- Olivia Hackman presented the paper, "¿Quién es Ixca Cienfuegos?"
- Amy Ross presented the paper "Aspectos temáticos y lingüísticos del donjuanismo."
- Meghan McCollough, Jim Short, Jenna Smith, and John Gregory Willard performed a staged reading of "El juicio de Lalo" from the José Triana´s play, “La noche de los asesinos.”
Established in 1992, the Latin American Studies Symposium provides an opportunity for students and faculty to discuss a wide range of topics in Latin American Studies.
