Rhodes students Tulisha Jackman, Daniel King and Mackenzie Zalin attended the national convention of Eta Sigma Phi held in Philadelphia, Pa., March 30-April 1. Eta Sigma Phi is the national honorary collegiate society for students of Latin and/or Greek.

Zalin won the Theodore Bedrick Scholarship that will allow him to participate in a two-week seminar near Naples, Italy this summer. The selection was based on Zalin’s academic record and his intent of pursing a career in Greek and Roman Studies.

At the convention, Rhodes students heard lectures by other classicists, visited the University of Pennsylvania Museum of Archaeology and Anthropology and participated in translation contests and certamen, a classical quiz bowl.

The Rhodes group also reported on chapter activities during the year.
