Central High School Students and Parents Attend Rhodes Showing of Invisible Children Documentary
Publication Date: 1/26/2007
On the evening of January 21, 2007, Rhodes College hosted a screening of the documentary, Invisible Children, followed by a discussion of service and engagement with world issues. Students and parents from Central High School were in attendance as well as members of the Rhodes Community. Invisible Children is a documentary produced by three University of Southern California students who ventured into war-torn Uganda to capture the daily commute of children from their homes to places of refuge from the rebel threats of abduction, brainwashing, and murder that have continued during this seventeen-year war between the government and the rebel forces.
The filmmakers have formed groups that travel around the United States to inform others about what they witnessed on their journey. Rhodes College, Central High School and Facing History and Ourselves cooperated in this consciousness-raising event for both the high school and college students.
