Rhodes Student Government President and Summer Service Scholar Recognized as Mr. and Ms. Rhodes

Andrew Greer, the 2007 Mr. Rhodes, is a graduate of Briarcrest Christian School in Germantown, TN. A senior with a double major in international studies and political science and a minor in business administration, Greer is president of the Rhodes Student Government. He is a member of Kappa Sigma Fraternity, for which he has served as fundraising and philanthropy chair in past years, and also serves as a student representative to the Rhodes Board of Trustees.
Greer has been a volunteer of theVollintine-Evergreen Greenline revitalization project and has assisted in the restoration of the historic Mt. Zion Cemetery in Memphis. He spent part of his past summer in Grenoble, France as a camp counselor for the children of American missionaries in Europe.
The son of Ray and Debbie Greer, Greer plans to enroll in Rhodes’ Master of Accounting Program in the Fall of 2007.
Katherine Stewart, the 2007 Ms. Rhodes, is the daughter of Rob and Rachel Stewart of Atlanta, GA. A senior with a psychology major and a music minor, Stewart serves on the Psychology Research Team and participates in the Rhodes Singers and Rhodes Orchestra. She also is president of the Rhodes chapter of Kappa Delta sorority.
In the summer of 2006, Stewart participated in the Rhodes Summer Service Fellowship Program. Her ten-week project involved working at the Hope and Healing Center and Big Brothers and Big Sisters of Memphis. Stewart also serves as a Reading Renaissance volunteer at Snowden School.
A graduate of Riverwood High School, Stewart says that she is interested in pursuing graduate study in rehabilitative psychology.
The Elections Commission of the Rhodes Student Government administered the election, and both Greer and Stewart were recognized at the Rhodes College Homecoming football game.
