Important Deadline Information

We are aware that some students, counselors and recommenders have had issues with the new Common Application system.  Most of those issues have revolved around log-ins and submission, and generating pdfs. We are confident that these issues will be resolved by the Common Application and its technology partners, and urge patience during what can be a stressful time.  We have actually heard from very few students, counselors or parents reporting any technical difficulties, but we are aware that many individuals have had some issues.
Some colleges have pushed back their November 15 deadlines one week. Others have not moved their deadlines but pledge flexibility and understanding. Our policy is reviewed daily. Rhodes has thus far chosen to maintain its November 15 Early Action deadline. Issues with the Common Application seem to be declining sharply as that organization has made several major improvements to the system.
However, we will be happy to extend the Early Action deadline to November 22 on an as needed basis for those experiencing technical challenges.  To request an extension, students, counselors, and teachers are urged to send a brief email to should you have an unavoidable technological delay in submitting the Common Application and supporting materials.  Your request via email will help us log the appropriate information and keep a written record.  Please submit your full name, address, your birthdate, the best phone number to reach you, and your high school.  Please also describe the problem you are having and what steps you have taken to resolve it.  Students will be in no way disadvantaged by such a circumstance or difficulty.
