Every Spring Break, a group of Rhodes College students have the opportunity of going on an Alternative Spring Break Trip. Past trips include service projects in Mexico and Costa Rica. In order to go on the 2012 trip, students must go through an application process. Applications will be made available later in the semester and an information session will also be scheduled.

This year, March 9-16, 2013, students will embark on a journey to serve in Cruz Verde, a small Caribbean town in the Dominican Republic. Through the Sister Island Project students will have the opportunity to do meaningful service while being immersed in a different culture. The ultimate goal of the project is to help improve the living conditions in Cruz Verde. Service projects will include: environmentally friendly housing construction, painting, teaching Spanish to children, agriculture projects, as well as others! This is a great opportunity in the quest to become a global citizen!
