Rhodes remains among the nation’s top 40 baccalaureate institutions for study abroad, according to the Open Doors 2009 report recently released by the Institute of International Education (IIE). The college also ranked in the top 40 in last year’s report.

For percentage of undergraduate participation, Rhodes ranked 34th. This category is based on the number of undergraduate students who participated in study-abroad programs (263 Rhodes students) and the number of undergraduate degrees conferred (407) for an estimated 64.6 percent participation.

IIE has published Open Doors since 1949 and receives support from the Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs of the U.S. Department of State. The study abroad data in Open Doors 2009 reflect study conducted abroad in academic year 2007/08 (including summer 2008). Findings can be accessed at www.opendoors.iienetwork.org
