Rhodes Alumnus Named a Lilly Fellow

Rhodes alumnus Stephen Ogden is one of 16 graduate students from across the country selected to participate in the Valparaiso University-based Lilly Fellows Program.
Established in 1991, the program has provided postdoctoral fellowships for teacher-scholars who seek to enrich their intellectual and spiritual lives while preparing for leadership roles in church-related higher education.
Ogden received a bachelor′s degree in religious studies and philosophy from Rhodes College in 2005 and a master′s degree in religion from Yale Divinity School in 2009. Ogden is pursuing a dual doctorate in philosophy and religious studies at Yale.
Fellows meet regularly with a mentor, attend four conferences, participate in a long-distance colloquium and receive three annual fellowship awards.
In 2005, Ogden was inducted into the Rhodes Hall of Fame. He also received the Algernon Sydney Sullivan Award presented to two graduating seniors and one non-student who have given selflessly to others and the college.
