Program Basics
Course Title: Politcal Science, American Ideas and the American Experience
Course Description: The course will include an examination of the basic principles of the American political tradition, the contestation of those principles in various historical periods (e.g. the Revolutionary war and the founding; the Civil War and Reconstruction, the New Deal and WWII, the 1960s, post 9-11 America), and consideration of significant political issues. The program will be based at George Washington University and will include classroom work, field trips and outside speakers.
