Big Read Panel to Discuss Ernest Gaines’ A Lesson Before Dying

Rhodes will present a Panel Discussion about Ernest Gaines’ A Lesson Before Dying on March 31 as part of The Big Read.  Free and open to the public, the event begins at 7 p.m. in Barret Library 051.

Panelists will discuss multiple perspectives of the book--overall plot and themes; issues of religion and faith, and issues of social justice. Panelists are Ms. Barbara Williams, (retired, Secondary Special Education Public School Teacher), Dr. Marshall Boswell (Associate Professor English, Rhodes College), and Dr. Aram Goudsouzian (Assistant Professor of History, The University of Memphis). The facilitator is Dr. Luther Ivory (Associate Professor of Religious Studies, Rhodes College).
