Jessica Comola ’10 is Poetry Contest Finalist

Jessica Comola ’10 was recognized as a poetry contest finalist at the 49th Annual Lex Allen Literary Festival hosted by Hollins University March 7.

Comola’s poem, “I Fell Asleep That Night in the Bathtub,” was selected as one of 21 finalists for the contest.  She is an English major from Austin, Texas.

Comola attended the daylong literary festival that included  a poetry panel discussing student work, a reception, and readings by authors Kelly Cherry, Wyn Cooper, and Karen McElmurray. Winners of the fiction and poetry contests were announced at the conclusion of the event.
