Rhodes Students Featured in St. Jude’s Volunteer Publication
Publication Date: 12/8/2008
Rhodes students Stephanie Aughinbaugh, Elizabeth Bernard, Rachel Bernard, Caroline Cook, Erin Dressel, and Anastasia Hartzes are among 55 college students giving their time this semester as volunteers at St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. They are featured in St. Jude’s current Volunteer Information Publication (VIP).
According to Volunteer Services Intern Heather Guess, the students have been sporting new uniform T-shirts with the quote on the back: “Success has nothing to do with what you gain in life or accomplish for yourself; it’s what you do for others.”
Guess adds volunteers can be found cleaning toys, leading physical and fun activities, delivering meals, hot chocolate and coffee to patients and their families as well as taking craft kits, coloring books, crayons, magazines and other surprises to patients.
