The University of Lima is a large, modern university founded in 1962. The University is one of Lima′s premier private institutions and offers a full range of courses. Students should consult their faculty advisor and the Director of International Programs for specific course information and advice. How to Obtain Your Student Visa for Peru

A student visa is a document issued by a country granting an individual permission to enter a country with the express purpose of completing studies there at a recognized institution.

Who needs a visa?

Citizens of countries not appearing below may not require a visa, for stays of up to 90 days.

For longer stays, a student visa may be required.

Nationals from the following countries may require a visa to enter Peru; for stays of up to 90 days, a tourist visa may be sufficient:

All African nations, with the exception of South Africa, Afghanistan, Saudi Arabia, Bangladesh, Bahrain, Bhutan, Cambodia, United Arab Emirates, India, Iran, Iraq, Jordan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Kuwait, Lebanon, Maldives, Mongolia, Nepal, Oman, Qatar, Laos, North Korea, Pakistan, Syria, Sri Lanka, People′s Republic of China, Turkmenistan, Uzbekistan, Vietnam, Yemen, Cuba, Albania, Armenia, Azerbaijan, Belarus, Bosnia, Bulgaria, Cyprus, Croatia, Slovenia, Estonia, Georgia, Hungary, Lithuania, Latvia, Macedonia, Moldova, Poland, Czech Republic, Slovak Republic, Romania, Russia, Turkey, Ukraine and Serbia & Montenegro.

How to get a visa:

Documentation needed:

  • Passport - must have a remaining validity of at least the length of the trip
  • Fill out the visa form
  • A letter from the University of Lima indicating the motive and time of your stay.
  • One passport picture, copy of the flight ticket, and money order payable to Consualdo General del Peru for $15.00.

If this procedure is done by mail, you must send a FedEx pre-paid envelope with your name and complete address so the Consulate can return the documents.

Student visas may be renewed at the Oficina de Migraciones once the student has enrolled in the University of Lima.
