Langford Elected to VP Position in National Orientation Directors Association

Marcus Langford, Director of New Student Programs at Rhodes, has been elected Vice President of External Relations and Research for the National Orientation Directors Association (NODA). This role oversees publications and research initiatives while developing and enhancing external relationships with other higher education professional associations.
Langford began his three-year term at the conclusion of the NODA 2008 Conference held in Boston earlier this month. Chartered in 1976, NODA provides education, leadership and professional development in the fields of college student orientation, transition and retention.
Since 2001, Langford has been a member of NODA and has presented at annual and regional conferences as well as served as a state coordinator and on the Board of Directors as an At-Large representative.
At Rhodes, he is responsible for the management and coordination of Open Rhodes, Welcome Week and the first-year mentoring program. He also co-coordinates the Jumpstart program with the Assistant Director of Career Services. Prior to coming to Memphis, Langford worked at Oregon State University as a Coordinator with the Office of New Student Programs and Family Outreach.
