The Alliance for Global Education
The Alliance for Global Education is a partnership of the Arcadia University′s Center for Education Abroad and the Institute for Study Abroad at Butler University, formed with the vision of opening non-traditional destinations to an ever-growing and more diverse U.S. undergraduate population.
With current programs in China and India, the Alliance for Global Education maintains the high academic standards, strong student services, and careful health and safety measures of its partner institutions while furthering its core mission of offering students a stimulating, interdisciplinary introduction to vibrant, dynamic countries and cultures that are of ever-increasing scholarly, political, and economic interest.
Beijing Program of Asian Studies
The Beijing Program of Asian Studies is sponsored by Lake Forest College and hosted by Peking University in Beijing, China. It aims to expose students to Chinese language, culture, history, religion, economy, politics and society through a combination of classroom instruction and optional internship. Participants should be at the Junior or Senior level, have a solid academic background in their major field(s) of study, and may demonstrate some Chinese language ability. Students are normally expected to have a 2.67 GPA. The program is most suitable for those who are seriously interested in studying Asian Studies, Chinese language, International Relations, and International Business.
The program is conducted during the 15-week fall semester, from late August through mid-December, and 15-week spring semester, from January through early May. Students register for a minimum of 15 semester hours each.
Kansai Gaidai in Japan
Collaborating with over 300 foreign universities in 50 countries and regions, Kansai Gaidai provides its students with many diversified educational programs to create the necessary foundation to pursue intellectual curiosity, self-awareness, and concern for others. It is through actual experience that people become fully aware of cultural differences and acquire a deeper understanding about them.
IES Nagoya, Beijing, Tokyo
The large, thriving, modern city of Nagoya is the gateway to the vast beauty and culture of central Japan. It is one of Japan′s major cities and an important industrial and cultural center. Its rich natural environment provides the backdrop for scenic areas such as Ise Bay, Nobi Plain, and the Kiso River. Nagoya Castle, originally built in 1612, Atsuta Shrine, and the Tokugawa Art Museum are among the city′s many famous attractions that draw visitors from around the world.
Nanzan University, site of the IES Abroad Nagoya Program, is a distinguished private university on a wooded campus on a hill above Nagoya.
Not far from Nagoya, the historic sites of the Kansai and Kanto regions and the ski country of the Japanese Alps wait to be explored.
CET in Beijing and Harbin, China, and Vietnam
CET offers study abroad programs in China, Vietnam, the Czech Republic, Italy and Spain. CET is known for its innovative programs emphasizing high academic standards, innovative approaches to teaching and careful student management.
CET offers programs in China and Vietnam, with concentrations in Chinese studies, language, globalization, and Vietnam immersion.
SIT in China, Vietnam, Samoa, Fiji, Indonesia, Mongolia
SIT programs use a field-based approach to achieve genuine cultural immersion. Each program is organized around a theme and includes intensive language study, home stays, thematic and field seminars an independent study project. SIT offers over 80 semester and summer programs in Africa, Asia and the Pacific, Europe, Latin America and the Caribbean, and the Middle East.
Programs in Asia offer concentrations such as culture and ethnic minorities, community health and traditional Chinese medicine, Pacific island studies, and more.
CIEE in China
CIEE is a leading U.S. non-governmental international educational organization administering approximately 95 study abroad programs in 33 countries.
They offer many programs in China, with various levels of language concentration.
