Theatre
IES at London Academy of Music and Dramatic Art (LAMDA)
Theater is often associated with London. With countless venues, and productions ranging from Shakespeare to Chicago, it is hard to imagine a better location for theater performance studies. LAMDA is an independent school of drama dedicated to training actors, stage managers, and technicians to meet the demands and opportunities presented by contemporary professional theater. This mission is supported by a curriculum that strives to equip students with a strong technical base for their craft. Small-group and one-on-one instruction make study at LAMDA a highly personalized experience, and the school’s close proximity to London’s West End ensures that learning continues beyond the classroom.
LAMDA is situated in West London, an area that is known for its nice shops, restaurants, and houses. There are also a number of museums and performance venues in the area, such as the Victoria and Albert Museum and Royal Albert Hall. The school is close to public transportation (the Baron’s Court and West Kensington tube stations), making Central London readily accessible.
