Department of Anthropology and Sociology

  • Heather Jamerson, Assistant Professor
    She will soon receive a Ph.D. in sociology and a certificate in Women’s Studies from Emory University. 
  • Jeanne Lopiparo, Assistant Professor
    She comes to Rhodes from the University California, Berkeley where she was as a visiting lecturer in the Department of Anthropology.
  • Robert Lusteck, Faculty Fellow for Environmental Studies
    He comes to Rhodes from the University of Minnesota where he was an anthropology instructor.
  • Zandria F. Robinson, William Randolph Hearst Fellow
    Prior to coming to Rhodes, she taught in the Department of Sociology at both Southwest Tennessee Community College and The University of Memphis.

Department of Art

  • Ben Butler, Assistant Professor
    Prior to coming to Rhodes, he taught at SUNY New Paltz, Bowdoin College and the School of the Art Institute of Chicago.

Department of Biology

  • Jon Davis, Faculty Fellow
    He comes to Rhodes from Arizona State University where he was a researcher and teaching assistant in the Department of Biology.
  • Laura Luque de Johnson, Assistant Professor
    She is completing a postdoctoral fellowship at St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital in the Department of Infectious Diseases and during the 2007-2008 academic year, she served as a visiting assistant professor in Rhodes’ Department of Biology.

Department of Chemistry

  • Kimberly Fisher, Assistant Professor
    Prior to coming to Rhodes, she taught at West Virginia University.
  • Michael Julian, Assistant Professor
    Prior to coming to Rhodes, he served as a chemistry instructor at California State University-Stanislaus and a visiting assistant professor at University of Arkansas–Fort Smith. 

Department of English

  • Kristin Cole, Assistant Professor
    She comes to Rhodes from the University of Texas at Austin where she was a lecturer in the Department of English.
  • Barrett Hathcock, Assistant Professor
    He comes to Rhodes from the University of Alabama where he was a teaching assistant for the Department of English.
  • Jason Richards, Assistant Professor
    Prior to coming to Rhodes, he served as an instructor in the Department of English at Auburn University as well as an adjunct in the Department of English at Santa Fe Community College. 
  • Rashna Wadia Richards, Assistant Professor
    She comes to Rhodes from SUNY Brockport where she was an assistant professor and director of film studies in the Department of English.
  • John Ronan, Assistant Professor
    He comes to Rhodes from The University of Memphis where he was an assistant professor in the Department of English.
  • Rychetta Watkins, Assistant Professor
    She comes to Rhodes from William Jewell College where she was an assistant professor in the Department of English.

Department of Greek and Romans Studies

  • Susan Satterfield, Assistant Professor
    She soon will receive a Ph.D. in classics from Princeton University. Prior to working on her doctorate, she served as an intermediate Latin instructor at Princeton.

Department of History

  • Clayton D. Brown, Assistant Professor
    He comes to Rhodes from the University of Pittsburgh where he was an instructor of modern East Asian civilizations.
  • Matthew Hild, Assistant Professor
    He comes to Rhodes from Georgia State University where he was a visiting lecturer.
  • Tait Keller, Faculty Fellow for Environmental Studies
    He recently served as Visiting Assistant Professor in the Department of History at Towson University.
  • Alex J. Novikoff, Assistant Professor
    Prior to coming to Rhodes, he served as visiting assistant professor at St. Joseph’s University and as an adjunct professor at Rutgers University, Temple University, and Rosemont College. 
  • Brian Page, Instructor
    He is completing a Ph.D. in history from Ohio State University and comes to Rhodes from The University of Memphis where he was an adjunct instructor.
  • Etty Terem, Assistant Professor
    Prior to coming to Rhodes, she taught at Boston University and served as a teaching fellow at Harvard and Tel Aviv universities.

Department of International Studies

  • Jennifer Sciubba, Faculty Fellow for Environmental Studies
    She soon will receive a Ph.D. in international relations and comparative politics from the University of Maryland. She most recently served as an instructor at the University of Maryland and a demographics consultant in the Office of the Secretary of Defense in Arlington, Va.

Department of Mathematics and Computer Science

  • Eric J. Breck, Visiting Assistant Professor
    Prior to coming to Rhodes, he taught in the Department of Computer Science at Cornell University and served as a senior artificial intelligence engineer at the MITRE Corporation. 
  • Michael Sheard, Department Chair and Professor of Mathematics 
    He comes to Rhodes from St. Lawrence University as the Rutherford Professor of Mathematics.

Department of Modern Languages and Literatures

  • Rachel N. Bauer, Assistant Professor
    She comes to Rhodes from Meredith College where she was an assistant professor of Spanish.
  • Amy Collins Cardenas, Instructor
    She comes to Rhodes from Tulane University where she was a teaching assistant in the Department of Spanish.
  • Alberto del Pozo Martinez, Assistant Professor
    He soon will receive a Ph.D. in Spanish literature from Vanderbilt University where he has been a graduate teaching assistant for the past four years.
  • Li Han, Assistant Professor
    She comes to Rhodes from University of California-Irvine where she was a teaching assistant in the Department of East Asian Languages and Literatures.

Department of Music

  • Joe Montelione, Assistant Professor
    He soon will receive a D.M.A. in trumpet performance from the University of Southern California.  He most recently served as the trumpet ensemble director, brass ensemble conductor, chamber winds conductor, and music librarian at USC. 

Department of Physics

  • Todd Krueger, Assistant Professor
    He comes to Rhodes from Maryville University where he was an adjunct physics professor.

Department of Political Science

  • Richard Dagger, Professor and Director of the Search for Values in Light of Western History and Religion Program 
    He comes to Rhodes from Arizona State University as a professor and director of the Philosophy, Politics, and Law Program and an affiliate professor in the Department of Philosophy.    
  • Alexandra Hoerl, Assistant Professor
    She comes to Rhodes from the University of Vermont where she was a full-time visiting lecturer.

Department of Psychology

  • Jeffrey J. Sable, Assistant Professor
    He comes to Rhodes from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign where he was a visiting assistant professor and scientist.
