The Center for Outreach in the Development of the Arts (CODA) is seeking ideas for a large-scale mural painting to be produced on the downtown building located at 195 Madison Avenue. Owned by Rhodes trustee Wilton “Chick” Hill, the building is adjacent to the Memphis Redbirds stadium and is visible from the stands.

The mural project is still in the planning stages, but CODA wants to know what themes and images should be considered for the project.  Ideas should be submitted to coda@rhodes.edu by August 1, 2008.

CODA also is seeking an experienced mural artist for the project. The selected artist will be announced on or before September 1 and will be assisted by Rhodes College students and CODA staff in support roles. Logistical support for the project will be provided by the UrbanArt Commission.
